The Original Veteran Support Page is Back!

This is a wild story. A few months back I had lost my original Veteran Support page due to somebody hacking into the account. It was a terrible thing. I have almost 4,000 long time followers on that page. I went round and round with Facebook trying to get my page back under my control. Somehow the hacker took me off of Admin, and I could do nothing with the page. One day I actually caught the hacker. I saw my name with another email under it. So, I waited, and suddenly changed the password. I think it worked, but I could still do nothing with the page. One night I got frustrated, and completely took myself off of the page. I could not even get my information off of the page. Facebook had made it almost impossible to get back control of the account.

A few weeks earlier, I decided to make a new business page, just in case. Every time i went through the process, Facebook would send up a red flag saying the page was not created. So, I would try again. It turns out the pages were getting created. All of the sudden I had 5 brand new pages. And an old page I could not manage.

I began working on two of the pages. But then Google said in order for me to have a profile the business name has to be like the website (Veteran Support USA). I was able to name one-page Veteran Support USA, the other page is like the group, Veteran Support (Buy and Sell Marketplace), two of the new pages I was able to delete. Then I had the old page, which still upset me.

Then this past weekend, some guy hit me up pretending to be a Meta account specialist. He had a good hook going. He definitely fooled me. He said he could get back into my account. An hour later he came back and said the hackers had done some really bad things. It would cost me $100 to fix the account. I am going to admit it here, I paid it. Then he came back again, demanding more money. I knew I had been taken. Hook, line, and sinker.

I told him I did not get paid for another week, and that if he completed the job like we agreed, I would pay him the extra $100 on Friday. I still had hope. He began to actually threaten me, so I contacted Meta and told them what was happening.

Earlier that day I did something that got me thinking. My website could not get verified, because it was still connected to the old Veteran Support page. I created a new business manager with that 4th new page that was left over. Then I moved the old Veteran Support page into that business manager and assigned my name back into the old Veteran Support page. I was then able to take my website back out of the old page, so now I could get it verified again in the new page I was using. It worked! Then I realized I could completely delete the old page. I sent the hacker a message telling him what I had accomplished, that I had changed the passwords, and notified Meta, which I did. He was furious.

I explained everything I had done to Meta, and he told me how to get full control of my old page back. I followed the steps, and Wala, it worked! Then the hacker came back again as a completely different person. He tried to tell me that the first hacker, which was him, had really screwed up the page, and only he knew how to fix it. I led him on a while, then told him to look at the picture on the front of the page. I had changed it! Then I marked him as spam. hopefully he is gone for good.

Now, I need to move my newly recovered Veteran Support page out of the business manager I have it in, delete that business manager, which is the 4th new page, and move the old Veteran Support page into the new business manager that has the two new pages I have been using. Then I will try to merge two of the three pages together, and I will be left with the original Veteran Support page, and a new Veteran Support USA page. Eventually I will have everything, including the Group, called Veteran Support USA. What a cluster fuck this entire proccess has been.

But now lets look at the positive outcomes. I actually have a Facebook Shop in both of the new pages. This is good. And the website is completed. Now it is about just making it better. And the other thing I am excited about is the Partnerships I have developed. On Christmas day, Temu asked if I wanted to be a Partner. eBay has also been added recently, we have Fanatics, and all of the professional sports leagues, and two of the best outdoors shops in America, Mountain Steals and Moosejaw.
